About WealthIQ

Who We Are

WealthIQ is an independent personal finance research publication. We were founded with one purpose: to help everyday investors make smarter money decisions — without the noise, bias, or corporate spin that clouds so much financial media.

We are based in the United States and operate entirely independently. WealthIQ is not owned by any bank, brokerage firm, or financial institution. We have no affiliation with the products or services we cover. Our revenue comes from display advertising and affiliate partnerships, both of which are fully disclosed. Those relationships do not influence what we write or how we evaluate financial products.

Our Editorial Team

The WealthIQ Editorial Team is a group of personal finance researchers, writers, and analysts with backgrounds spanning financial research, economics, and consumer advocacy. Our team has spent years studying how financial products actually work — not just how they’re marketed — and translating that knowledge into clear, actionable guidance for real people.

We don’t publish bylines because we believe the work should speak for itself. Every piece of content that carries the WealthIQ name has gone through our editorial process, regardless of who originally drafted it.

Our Research Process

We take our research seriously. Here’s how every article gets made:

  1. Topic identification. We start by understanding what readers actually need — using search data, reader questions, and gaps we identify in existing coverage. If people are confused about something, we want to explain it well.
  2. Primary source research. We go straight to the source: SEC filings, fund prospectuses, FINRA BrokerCheck, IRS publications, Federal Reserve data, and official government resources. We do not rely on other websites as primary references.
  3. Independent analysis. We draw our own conclusions. We don’t parrot press releases or restate marketing copy. When a product or strategy has weaknesses, we say so.
  4. Editorial review. Every article is reviewed by a second team member before publication. We check for accuracy, clarity, and fairness.
  5. Fact-checking. Numbers, rates, fees, and regulatory details are verified against primary sources before we publish. When something changes, we update the article.

Our Standards

A few things we hold firm on:

  • Accuracy comes first. If we don’t know something for certain, we say so. We’d rather acknowledge uncertainty than overstate our confidence.
  • No paid editorial placements. Companies cannot pay to appear in our articles, rank higher in our comparisons, or receive more favorable coverage. Period.
  • Affiliate relationships are always disclosed. When a link may earn us a commission, we disclose it clearly — both on the page and in our editorial policy.
  • We recommend what we’d use ourselves. If we wouldn’t be comfortable recommending a product to a friend, it doesn’t make our lists.
  • We correct our mistakes. Financial products, rates, and regulations change. When our content is outdated or wrong, we update it and note the change. We don’t quietly delete errors.

Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on WealthIQ are affiliate links. This means that if you click through and make a purchase or open an account, we may earn a commission from the company — at no additional cost to you. These partnerships help keep WealthIQ free for readers.

Our affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial recommendations. We evaluate products on their merits first. Whether or not an affiliate program exists for a given product has no bearing on whether we recommend it or how we cover it.

For a full explanation of how we handle these relationships, see our Editorial Policy.
