Our Mission
WealthIQ exists to provide independent, data-driven personal finance guidance that helps readers make informed financial decisions. We believe that accurate, unbiased information — written clearly and without an agenda — is one of the most valuable things we can offer.
Independence
WealthIQ is not owned by any bank, brokerage, insurance company, or financial institution. Our editorial decisions are made independently of our advertising and affiliate relationships. Sponsors and partners have no input into which products we cover, how we rank them, or what conclusions we reach.
How We Select Topics
We choose topics based on three criteria: reader demand (what people are actually searching for and asking about), financial relevance (topics that meaningfully affect people’s money decisions), and coverage gaps (areas where existing information is poor, outdated, or misleading). We do not accept sponsored topic requests.
How We Research
We rely on primary sources. That means fund prospectuses, SEC Edgar filings, FINRA BrokerCheck, IRS.gov, Federal Reserve publications, official government datasets, and company earnings reports. We do not base our analysis primarily on other websites or secondary summaries. When we cite data, we link to the source.
How We Handle Affiliate Relationships
Some articles contain affiliate links. When you click one and open an account or make a purchase, we may receive a commission. We disclose this clearly on every relevant page.
Our process: we evaluate products on their merits before considering affiliate availability. A product is never included in a comparison or recommendation because it offers an affiliate program. We recommend products we would use ourselves and are comfortable recommending to our own families. If a product has significant drawbacks, we say so — regardless of whether it’s an affiliate partner.
Accuracy & Updates
Financial information changes. Rates shift, regulations are updated, and product terms evolve. We take the following approach to keeping content current:
- AI and cryptocurrency articles: Reviewed and updated monthly.
- Time-sensitive financial topics (rates, fees, regulatory changes): Reviewed quarterly.
- Evergreen content (investing fundamentals, financial concepts): Reviewed annually.
When we update an article, we note the most recent review date at the top or bottom of the page.
Corrections Policy
If we publish an error — factual, numerical, or otherwise — we correct it promptly. Corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article with a brief description of what changed. We do not silently delete or alter content without disclosure.
